Indoor & outdoor planting
1. Corrosion-resistant, self-absorbing, breathable, durable, water-saving, and drought-resistant.
2. Ideal for patios or small gardens, such as balconies, conservatories, and outdoor areas; can be used for sweet potatoes, taro, radishes, and other vegetables.
3. Convenient because they can be folded and stored when not in use.
Planting tips
1. Moisten the soil and compost well. Fill about one-third (15-20 cm deep) with a 50/50 mix of garden soil and compost.
2. Evenly distribute 3 to 5 seed potatoes and/or pieces ("eyes up") and cover them with 7.5 cm of soil.
3. As the potatoes continue to grow, keep adding soil/compost mix until you reach the top of the growing medium.
4. Water regularly. On hot, dry summer days, potato plants should be watered every 2 to 3 days. On cooler, rainy days, the potatoes may not need watering at all.
5. Watch for signs when the leaves start to yellow and the stems wilt. Then stop watering and wait a week or two. The potatoes are ready to harvest when more than 50% of the leaves have turned yellow.
Fabric grow bags are much better at controlling the temperature and moisture of your growing medium than traditional plastic pots. In cold weather, the fabric keeps your plant warmer, and in hot sun, your plant stays cooler, preventing overheating. (Note: Fabric bags may need to be watered more frequently because the porous material is less likely to retain excess water than old plastic pot materials.)
Air pruning feature
Fabric grow bags help mitigate the problem because once the roots reach the edges of the fabric pot, they sense the drier soil exposed to air. At this point, they know they have reached their growth limit. The roots are "air pruned," which is crucial for the growth of healthy plants in containers. Additionally, you get many more fibrous roots when they are air pruned. A more fibrous root system (many small root tips) allows plants to absorb more nutrients and water.
Don't wait a moment longer! Due to limited availability and high demand, they won't be around for much longer.
